Where these numbers come from

JFK is one of the priciest airports to park at, and the most reliable published figures come from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which owns the airport. Its schedule of charges lists a daily maximum of $80 in the Yellow and Blue lots and $70 in the Orange and Red lots. Those rates are marked as effective September 4, 2024, and that is the newest official schedule we could open. This page therefore shows a dated snapshot, not a live price list.

Please read the next point before you budget. Private parking sites and some news reports quote higher 2026 prices for the same lots than the 2024 schedule shows. We could not confirm those higher figures on an official Port Authority page, so they are not used here. Treat the numbers in the tables as a floor, and confirm the current price on the Port Authority or JFK Airport site before you book or drive in.

The short-stay formula is easy to misjudge. In Yellow and Blue you pay $6 for the first half hour, and after three hours each extra half hour costs $12, until the $80 daily maximum applies. Four hours in Yellow might cost well over $30 before the cap. Orange and Red are slightly gentler at $4 and then $8. A week at the walk-up maximum is 7 x $80 = $560 in Yellow or Blue, and 7 x $70 = $490 in Orange or Red.

Lot 9 is the long-term choice. The schedule charges $40 for the first 24 hours and $20 for each extra 12-hour period, which works out to about $40 per day when you stay in whole days. A week costs roughly $280, which is $280 less than seven days in Yellow. The schedule also shows a prebooked daily maximum of $35 in Lot 9, so a prebooked week could come to about $245 if that price is still offered when you reserve.

Prepaid options are the cheapest on paper. The schedule lists Federal Circle Station with a $40 daily maximum and JFK Discount Parking with a $30 daily maximum, both prepaid. Seven days at $30 is $210. Prebooking also lowers the cap in the Yellow and Blue lots from $80 to $60, which saves $140 on a week. Always compare the prebook price with the walk-up maximum, and watch for taxes or fees added at checkout.

Parking at JFK can cost more than a round trip by transit or rideshare for a short absence. Run your own numbers in the airport parking on-site vs off-site calculator. For other New York area airports, see the LaGuardia parking page and the Newark parking page.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a week of parking cost at JFK?

Using the Port Authority schedule effective September 4, 2024, a week costs about $560 in Yellow or Blue ($80 x 7), $490 in Orange or Red ($70 x 7), and roughly $280 in Lot 9. Current prices may be higher, so confirm before booking.

Why do other websites show higher JFK parking prices?

Unofficial sites quote higher 2026 prices than the 2024 schedule. We could not verify those figures on an official page, so this page uses the dated Port Authority schedule. Check the Port Authority or JFK Airport site for today's rate.

What is the cheapest official way to park at JFK?

The schedule lists JFK Discount Parking at a $30 daily maximum and Federal Circle Station at $40, both prepaid. Lot 9 is $40 for the first 24 hours, with a $35 prebook daily maximum.
