Where these numbers come from

LaGuardia has some of the highest drive-up parking prices in the country. Terminal A caps at $75 for 24 hours, Terminal B at $80 and Terminal C at $89. These come from the Port Authority schedule effective July 8, 2024. Prices differ by terminal, so the garage you pick matters as much as your trip length. The airport page confirms the structure of prepaid economy parking and lists authorized off-airport providers with phone numbers.

The meter is aggressive. At Terminals A and B you pay $5 per half hour for the first three hours, then $10 per half hour after that. Two hours is 4 x $5 = $20, and three hours is $30. A fourth hour costs another $20, so four hours is $50 and five hours is $70. The $75 Terminal A cap arrives at about five and a half hours. At Terminal C the rates are $6, then $12, so three hours is $36 and five hours is $84 before the $89 cap.

Over a week, choices produce big differences. Seven days at the Terminal A cap is 7 x $75 = $525. Terminal C is 7 x $89 = $623. A prebooked Terminal A space at the $50 maximum is 7 x $50 = $350, saving $175. Economy prepaid at $40 per day is 7 x $40 = $280, which saves $245 against Terminal A. For 14 days, economy prepaid costs $560 against $1,050 for Terminal A drive-up.

Economy prepaid has conditions: you must reserve at least 48 hours ahead. That rules it out for last-minute trips, where the drive-up maximums apply. The lower terminal maximums listed as prebook apply only to reserved stays. The FAQ for LaGuardia's booking system says you can cancel for any reason up to one hour before the entry time, and stays are limited to 30 days.

Many New Yorkers skip the car entirely, because Terminal A to C fees can exceed a rideshare round trip on a short trip. If you must drive, compare with private lots via the airport parking on-site vs off-site calculator. For the other Port Authority airport in this set, see Newark Liberty, where the P6 economy lot is $35 a day at the drive-up rate.
