About Adventure Calcs
Adventure Calcs is a free set of 60 travel tools and 8 quizzes for planning a trip: checked-bag fees and airline rules, TSA can-I-bring-it answers, airport parking, trip costs, cruise costs and drink packages, expat and moving costs, entry rules and converters.
Who runs this site
Adventure Calcs is run by Chris Jensen, an independent individual based in Florida. It is not a company. I started it because information people were looking for was missing or hard to find, and I wanted the costs and rules of travel in simple tools that show their method. Where the site says “we”, that is me. You can reach me at rusticreckoner@gmail.com or through the contact page.
Why this site exists
Travel planning means chasing rules and prices across airline pages, airport sites, government pages and cruise lines, all of which change. Adventure Calcs collects the checks people actually make before a trip into simple tools, and links the official pages behind them so you can confirm the current rule before you pay or pack.

Where the numbers come from
Each page links the sources behind it. Airport and security pages draw on the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), entry and visa pages on the U.S. Department of State’s travel.state.gov, national park fee pages on the National Park Service, baggage pages on each airline’s own published rules, cruise pages on each cruise line’s own pages, and cost-of-living pages on sources such as Numbeo and International Living, with exchange rates from the European Central Bank. Pages show when a source was last checked. The how we calculate page explains our approach and its limits.
What this site does not do
It is not a travel agent, it does not book anything and it does not give legal, immigration, medical or safety advice. Airlines, airports, cruise lines and governments set the rules, and they can change them without notice. See the disclaimer for the details.
How the site is paid for
Adventure Calcs is free to use and is supported by advertising from Google AdSense. Advertising never changes a result. For how analytics and advertising cookies are handled, see the privacy policy.
