Where these numbers come from

Mitchell uses a daily-maximum model: each lot charges $2 per hour until it reaches a cap. On 2026-09-30 the airport listed caps of $27 in the Hourly garage, $18 in the Daily garage and Surface lot, $11 in the Saver lot, and $28 for valet. The page lists no weekly rate and no effective date, so multi-day totals are built from the daily caps.

A week in the Saver Lot is 7 x $11 = $77. The Daily garage or Surface lot is 7 x $18 = $126, the Hourly garage is 7 x $27 = $189 and valet is 7 x $28 = $196. Over 14 days: $154, $252, $378 and $392. The Saver Lot saves $49 on a week against the Daily garage and $98 over two weeks. Versus the Hourly garage the saving reaches $112 on a week.

Because the lots bill hourly, short stays can cost less than the cap. In the Daily garage, 4 hours is 4 x $2 = $8, and the $18 cap is reached after 9 hours. The Saver Lot reaches its $11 cap after 5.5 hours of hourly charges. The Hourly garage and Surface lot also give free minutes: 30 minutes or less is free in the Hourly garage, and the first 30 minutes are free on the Surface lot.

One more example shows where the cap bites. A 3-day trip in the Daily garage is 3 x $18 = $54, versus 3 x $11 = $33 in Saver, which saves $21. In the Hourly garage it is 3 x $27 = $81, which is $48 more than Saver. Given those gaps, the Hourly garage only makes sense for stays under about 13 hours, where 13 x $2 = $26 is still below its cap.

Only the Saver Lot has a free shuttle, every 5 to 10 minutes around the clock. That is among the most frequent shuttle schedules published by these airports. There is also an $11 per day Rail lot reserved for Amtrak passengers and an $11 motorcycle area. EV charging costs $5 per charge in the Daily and Saver lots, plus regular parking. Because EV charges add to the bill, a week with two charges is 7 x $11 + 2 x $5 = $87 in Saver.

To compare with private lots, use the airport parking on-site vs off-site calculator. Other Midwest benchmarks are Kansas City at $9 for economy and Columbus at $9 for its Green Lot.
