Where these numbers come from

Salt Lake City has the widest spread among the airports in this group, with four price points from $14 to $65 per day. Every lot is hourly with a daily maximum, so short visits cost less than the cap. The spread is the story: the garage costs more than three times the Economy lot for the same 24 hours.

Economy uses a graduated hourly formula: $2 for the first hour and $1 for each hour after that. A 6-hour stay costs $2 + 5 x $1 = $7. The $14 cap is reached at 13 hours ($2 + 12 x $1). The garage and Lot E charge $5 per hour, so the garage reaches $45 after 9 hours and Lot E reaches $25 after 5 hours.

Worked trips: a five-day stay costs $70 in Economy, $125 in Lot E, $225 in the garage and $325 in premium reserved. A week costs $98, $175, $315 and $455. Fourteen days costs $196, $350, $630 and $910. Premium reserved is $10 an hour up to $65, on the second level near the terminal doors, so it only makes sense when time matters more than money.

Economy shuttles run around the clock, every eight to ten minutes by the airport's description, and there is no enforced maximum stay because the daily cap keeps long stays predictable. Lot E is a walking lot, so it saves money without the shuttle wait but is farther than the garage. Accessible parking in the short-term structure is billed at the $14 economy rate.

Consider the free shuttle as part of the price. Waiting for a shuttle every eight to ten minutes adds perhaps ten to fifteen minutes each way, yet the week in Economy is $217 cheaper than the garage ($315 less $98). Divided by the roughly 30 minutes of added travel time, that is a large hourly payoff, which is why most multi-day travelers choose the lot.

This page lists no weekly flat rate, and we did not verify an off-site operator price for Salt Lake City, so none is shown. Run the airport parking on-site vs off-site calculator with $14 and $45 to see your own break-even. A similar economy-versus-garage pattern appears at Tampa and Austin.
