Where these numbers come from

PHL splits its parking into three tiers, and the gap between them is large. Economy costs a flat $18 for each 24 hours, taxes and fees included. The terminal garage tops out at $32 for 24 hours. Ground-level short-term parking reaches $54, and the airport does not allow overnight stays there at all. For a trip, the real choice is garage versus Economy.

Here is the arithmetic. A four-day trip costs $72 in Economy (4 x $18) and $128 in the garage (4 x $32), a $56 difference. Over a week the totals are $126 and $224, so Economy saves $98. On a 14-day trip it is $252 against $448, a saving of $196. The Economy shuttle runs around the clock, including holidays, so you are not trading away late-night flights.

The short-stay ladder matters if you are meeting someone. Thirty minutes is $5, one hour is $7, two hours is $12 and three and a half hours is $20. The jump from 3.5 hours to 4 hours is steep, going from $20 to $28, so a four-hour visit costs $8 more than a 3.5-hour one. Anything over 4 hours in the garage moves to the $32 daily figure, so a long pickup wait is cheaper in the garage than in short-term at $54.

Watch the height limit of 6 feet 2 inches in the garage and short-term areas, which rules out many vans and lifted trucks. Garage C is currently closed for upgrades, which concentrates traffic in the other structures at busy times. Cardholders of the airline-branded credit card linked to the ground-level lot get a lower schedule, from $4 for 30 minutes up to $43 for 24 hours.

PHL publishes Economy as a single flat rate, and this page does not list a separate long-term lot or a weekly rate. We did not find a verified off-site operator price for Philadelphia, so none is shown. To compare, use the airport parking on-site vs off-site calculator with the $18 and $32 figures above. For a similar daily-cap structure see BWI parking, or compare with the cheaper Economy rate at Salt Lake City.
