Where these numbers come from

BWI Marshall publishes flat daily prices for each lot, and the four options sit on a tidy ladder: $11, $14, $16 and $30. Three of them are served by frequent shuttles, every 10 to 15 minutes. Only the Hourly Garage, at $6 per hour or $30 per day, is walkable.

A three-day trip costs $33 in Long Term, $42 in Express, $48 in the Daily Garage and $90 in the Hourly Garage. A week costs $77, $98, $112 and $210. Two weeks costs $154, $196, $224 and $420. The difference between Long Term and the Hourly Garage over 14 days is $266,.

The Hourly Garage caps at $30 after five hours, since 5 x $6 equals $30. That makes it reasonable for a pickup of up to a few hours. A two-hour wait costs $12, a three-hour wait costs $18. Beyond five hours you pay the same $30 per day however long you stay, so it never becomes cheaper than the Daily Garage for multi-day trips.

The Daily Garage is a useful middle ground. At $16, it is $5 above Long Term but covered, which keeps a car cool in summer and clear of snow in winter. Express at $14 uses eight covered bus shelter stops with free shuttles. Long Term is two surface lots, A and B, with more than 10,000 spaces combined (5,430 and 4,600), so spaces are rarely the constraint. Vehicles that need more than one space cannot be accommodated there.

A quick comparison of the two covered choices helps. The Hourly Garage is walkable but costs $30 per day, while the Daily Garage is $16 with a shuttle. On a 4-day trip that is $120 against $64, so the walk-up convenience costs $56 more. If you are flying out for just a long weekend with heavy bags, that may be a fair price; for a week or longer it rarely is.

We did not find a daily maximum separate from these flat rates, and we did not verify an off-site operator price, so none is shown. Use the airport parking on-site vs off-site calculator to test your own trip length. For a comparison with another Mid-Atlantic airport, see Reagan National or Dulles, both of which price by the hour with daily maximums.
