Where these numbers come from

Reagan National uses the same hourly rate everywhere, $7, and differs only in the cap. Parking 1 and Parking 2 top out at $35 per 24 hours, and Economy at $25. Those are drive-up prices. The airport says the lowest rates come from reserving at least 12 hours ahead through its reservation system, so check that figure before you leave.

The cap is reached quickly. Five hours at $7 is exactly $35, so a five-hour stay in either garage already costs the daily maximum. In Economy, four hours is $28, which is above $25, so the cap applies after four hours. A trip of three days costs $105 in the garages and $75 in Economy. A week costs $245 and $175. Fourteen days costs $490 and $350, a $140 saving with Economy.

Parking 1 and Parking 2 are split by airline. Parking 1 serves Air Canada, Frontier and Southwest. Parking 2 serves American, Alaska, Delta, JetBlue and United. Both charge the same, so pick the one nearest your check-in. Economy is for all airlines and uses a shuttle that arrives every 10 minutes to every terminal.

Note that Economy capacity was reduced by about 40 percent while a new parking structure is built inside the lot, with construction running into 2026. That makes advance reservations more important than usual on busy travel days. Exit booths take cash and the major cards.

Think about which question the rate table answers. If you are dropping someone off, $7 for the first hour is all you pay. If you are leaving a car for a weekend of two days, Economy costs $50 and the garages $70, a $20 difference, and the extra shuttle time is the price of saving it. On longer trips the gap scales linearly, so every extra day in Economy adds another $10 of savings over the garages.

We verified no off-site operator price for Reagan National, so none is shown. Plug these figures into the airport parking on-site vs off-site calculator. For a sister airport with a steeper terminal cap, see Dulles parking, where the terminal lot is $40 and Economy is $20.
