Where these numbers come from

Disney is the family-first line. The ships center on character experiences, kids clubs and staged shows, and there are adults-only areas for when the parents need a break. Unlike most lines, soft drinks at meals and beverage stations are part of the fare, which changes the math on extras. The price you pay on a fare page depends strongly on cabin size and party size, so Disney does not publish a simple per-person headline.

The pages checked show no per-person starting fare, so this page does not invent one. A secondary travel blog quotes family totals for two adults and one to three children, such as $4,265 to $6,284 for a 4-night sailing. Those are whole-party figures and move with the season. Put your own quote into the cruise cost calculator, then add the charges below.

Gratuities are fixed per guest per night and apply to children and infants: $16 in standard rooms and $27.25 in Concierge rooms and suites. A family of four on a 4-night standard cruise pays 4 x 4 x $16 = $256. The same family in Concierge pays 4 x 4 x $27.25 = $436. A further 18% applies to bar tabs, wine, spa and specialty dining, so a $100 bar bill becomes $118. Try the figures in the gratuity calculator.

Drinks work differently from other lines. The fare covers soft drinks in the dining rooms and at beverage stations, while bar drinks, beer, wine and bottled water cost extra. The minimum drinking age is 21, with 18 allowed on round-trip Singapore sailings and a consent form option for 18 to 20 year olds on European departures. Each stateroom may bring one bottle of wine or six beers aboard, with a $20 corkage fee to drink wine in a dining room.

Age and cancellation rules differ by length. Babies can sail from 6 months on most itineraries, and from 1 year on Transatlantic, Hawaii and Panama Canal trips. On a 6-night or longer standard cruise you pay nothing to cancel 120 or more days out, lose the deposit from 119 to 56 days, then 50%, 75% and 100% as sailing nears. Suites follow a tighter schedule.

Dress is casual with limits: swimwear and tank tops are not allowed in the main dining rooms, and the adults-only restaurants add a ban on T-shirts and sports attire. Who is it best for? Families with children under 12, and Disney fans willing to pay a premium. For comparison, read the Disney gratuity page, the Disney drink page and try the which cruise line quiz.
