Where these numbers come from

Port Canaveral keeps cruise parking simple. The port publishes one price, $20.00 per day plus tax, and it applies to every vehicle including RVs. There are no terminal-by-terminal tiers, no covered premium, and no advance booking. You drive up, park in a lot beside your terminal, and pay on arrival. The port page states that no shuttle is needed, so there is no bus time to add to your morning.

The port says the daily rate covers both the day of arrival and the day of departure. For a worked example, take a 7-night cruise that leaves on a Saturday and returns the next Saturday. If the port counts each calendar day from arrival through departure, that is 8 days. Eight days at $20 is $160 before tax. If your cruise line lets you park and board early, the same math holds, because the rate is per day rather than per hour.

Sales tax is added on top of the $20, so budget a little more than the posted figure. The port also says rates can change without notice. The page we checked showed no effective date, so treat $20 as the figure on the check date and confirm it at the lot entrance. We show no off-site range for this port because we did not find a published private-operator rate to cite.

Airport choice matters more here than at many ports. The port lists three airports. Melbourne International is the closest, about 25 miles and 40 minutes away via NASA Boulevard and U.S. 1. Orlando International is about 45 minutes away by the S.R. 528 toll road, and Orlando Sanford is about an hour away by S.R. 417. The port gives driving times for the Orlando airports but no mileage, so we leave that blank.

Orlando is the airport many travelers price first, but those drive times do not include the toll road charges or the time to collect bags and find your ride. Plan to land early enough that a delay does not put you at risk of missing boarding. Many travelers fly in the day before and stay in a hotel. Then the parking fee is the only transport cost, and you avoid a same-day rush.

To compare driving with flying, add the parking bill to tolls and fuel, then set it against airfare and transfers. Enter your own numbers in the cruise parking calculator or roll the whole trip into the cruise cost calculator. For a port with a higher per-night price, see Manhattan, and for tiered pricing by garage see Miami.
