Where these numbers come from

San Diego is the clearest case of a cruise port with no terminal lot. The Cruise Hive guide states that there are no official cruise parking lots at the port. The Port of San Diego points guests to several private operators instead, including Ace Parking, ABM Parking, San Diego's Park, Shuttle, Fly and Aladdin Airport and Cruise Ship Parking.

Private rates in the guide run from $6 to $20 per day, depending on location. The closest options, at about a tenth of a mile, were $14 at Wyndham Bayside and $16 at the BRIC garages. Farther garages cost less: $12 at the Columbia Garage and $6 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt. Those are snapshots from a secondary source, so confirm them before you rely on them.

A worked example shows the spread. On a 7-night cruise touching 8 days, the $16 garage costs $128 and the $6 option costs $48. The $80 gap buys a walk or a short ride. Airport-area lots at $10.99 to $20.99 are a third path, and they put you near the runway rather than the pier.

Distance to the airport is short, which is what makes San Diego simple without a car. The port lists San Diego International Airport 2.4 miles from the B Street terminal and 2.7 miles from Broadway Pier. Cruise Hive rounds the trip to about 5 miles by road. The port gives no drive time, so we leave that figure blank.

Because the airport is so close, many travelers skip parking and use a rideshare on both ends. A $6 a day lot plus two short rides can still beat a garage next to the pier. The port's 2026-27 schedule lists the ships that call, but the page we opened does not name the lines, so we do not list them here.

Compare that with a port that supplies its own lot. Long Beach has a terminal garage at $23 per day, and Seattle has port-area lots starting at $27. Enter your own figures in the cruise parking calculator or see the full trip in the cruise cost calculator.

Finally, remember that private garages can have their own height limits, overnight rules and shuttle schedules. Read the terms before you pay, and keep the receipt with your boarding documents. A lot that looks cheap on a map can add a ride you did not plan for.
