Where these numbers come from

Baltimore raised its parking price in 2026. The Maryland Port Administration notice says the passenger vehicle rate moved from $20 to $25 per day on April 1, 2026, and the passenger information page now lists $25. The FAQ page still shows the old $20, so this is the kind of detail to check against the rate table before you budget.

The lots are secured, long-term lots within walking distance of the terminal. You pay on arrival by credit card, and the state says advance reservations are not required. That makes planning easy, but it also means you cannot lock in a price, so the quoted rate applies when you arrive.

A worked example: a 7-night cruise that touches 8 days costs $200 for a car or SUV at $25 a day. The same stay cost $160 at the old $20 rate, so the increase adds $40. An RV under 30 feet at $40 a day runs $320, and an RV over 30 feet at $50 a day runs $400 for the same eight days.

The airport is close. Cruise Hive puts BWI at 10.6 miles from the port and about 20 minutes by taxi, which it says can stretch at rush hour. The Cruise Maryland FAQ lists a flat $30 taxi fare from the terminal to BWI. That is often cheaper than eight days of parking if you are flying in, so compare them.

The state pages name Carnival and Royal Caribbean as the cruise partners. A separate guide lists Norwegian and American Cruise Line too, but the port pages we opened do not, so the main lines here are the two the state names. Fleets and homeported ships change by season, so check your cruise documents.

For a cheaper daily rate, compare Norfolk at $15 per day with a shuttle. To see what the drive adds, use the cruise parking calculator with your own tolls and fuel, or the cruise cost calculator for the whole trip.

One last gotcha concerns timing. A cruise guide notes that passengers can enter the terminal only two hours before their embarkation time, so arriving at the lot early does not speed up boarding. Use the wait to park, unload and settle bags rather than rushing the drive from BWI or from home.
