Where these numbers come from

Mykonos has a modern pier at Tourlos, the New Port, about 2.5 km north of Mykonos Town. Larger ships berth there directly, while some smaller ships anchor and tender guests, so your ship may use either method. The pier is not described as a comfortable walk to the old town, so a short ride is part of the plan.

The SeaBus is the cheapest ride. The operator lists EUR 2 one way, $2.27, and a trip of about 12 minutes, with departures every 30 minutes and every 15 minutes from the old port when a cruise ship is in. Another guide says roughly EUR 2 and about 8 minutes. A taxi is listed at roughly EUR 10, $11.36, per car for up to four people, which does not beat the boat per person even for a full car of four.

Worked example, four adults. SeaBus one way for four costs 4 x $2.27 = $9.08, so a round trip is $18.16. One taxi each way at $11.36 is $22.72 round trip, about $5.68 each against $4.54 each on the boat. At two adults the boat is cheaper at $9.08 against $22.72 for a taxi round trip. Take the taxi only when weather, luggage or time is a concern. Four adults pay $5.68 each by taxi round trip against $4.54 by boat.

Greek cruise fees apply here at the top rate. A secondary tax guide lists EUR 20, $22.71, per passenger who disembarks between June and September, EUR 12, $13.63, in April, May and October, and EUR 4 in winter. A family of four would pay about $90.84 at the peak rate. The guide says there has been no rate change announced for 2026. The fee is normally billed by the cruise line, and on-board guests are not charged.

Excursion choices are narrow in the listings checked. A six-hour Beach Escape is $39.99, which also serves as the lowest beach-day figure, and a four-hour highlights tour is $87.99. A Delos guided tour is listed at EUR 25, about $28.39, by Delos Tours. Both excursion tours list round-trip coaches and a guide. Euro amounts are converted once at the ECB reference rate of 2026-09-30 (EUR/USD 1.1355) and rounded, so treat them as static estimates. Prices shown in US dollars. Check current exchange rates.
